JUJUTSU KAISEN Manga Boasts Over 80 Million Copies in Circulation

jujutsu kaisen manga

We’re getting closer and closer to when JUJUTSU KAISEN author Gege Akutami said the manga (might) end, but in the meantime it’s time to take an updated look at the series’ impressive numbers. The hits keep coming for the Jump success, which recently boasted an incredible 80 million copies printed physically and sold digitally, including previous volume reprints and the JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 prequel volume.

This comes just ahead of the launch of volume 23, and to celebrate the official accounts promised a live-action video to debut on July 5 alongside a broadcast of the JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 anime film. While the characters of the series won’t appear in this live-action video, it aims to “capture the worldview” of the series.

The manga started in the pages of Shonen Jump back in 2018. There are currently 22 collected volumes. Here’s how VIZ Media describes volume one:

Although Yuji Itadori looks like your average teenager, his immense physical strength is something to behold! Every sports club wants him to join, but Itadori would rather hang out with the school outcasts in the Occult Research Club. One day, the club manages to get their hands on a sealed cursed object. Little do they know the terror they’ll unleash when they break the seal…
