It may not sound as nice and clean as a top 10 title, but JUJUTSU KAISEN 0‘s latest achievement is nothing to sneeze at. The film continues to sell tickets in the days since its December 24 premiere, and it’s now the 80th highest grossing film in Japanese box office history.
This rise in the ranks coincides with the film’s latest numbers, which included another 1 billion yen over the three-day holiday weekend to put its running total at over 7.7 billion yen. Sitting in 80th place puts it right below the 2008 Boys Over Flowers Final film (7.75 billion yen) and bumps The Sixth Sense down to 81st.
VIZ Media published the JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 manga in North America and describes it:
Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem—his childhood friend Rika has turned into a Curse and won’t leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary Curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat Curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the Curse that haunts him?
