Japanese Post Office to Release Pokémon Stamps This Summer

pokemon stamps

Slowpoke is the Pokémon ambassador for Kagawa prefecture, and part of that entails a special Slowpoke mailbox, mail truck and decorative stamps. It’s meant to be a boost for tourism, but it appears soon the whole country of Japan will be able to enjoy Pokémon and mail together. The Japanese Post Office is talking about bringing out a whole bunch of Pokémon stamps, which should become available this summer.

Stamps take inspiration from some of the original Pokémon cards. Unfortunately they’re hard to pre-order if you live outside of Japan, as you’re supposed to ask for them as your local Japanese post office. Pre-orders online are not an option, or at least not yet.

If you could get Pokémon stamps where you live, would it get you sending out a lot more letters?
