The all-new story of Yashahime is set many years after the events of Inuyasha, so there’s no need to fully catch up on one before watching the other. Yashahime involves the reopening of tunnels that connect two very different eras, sending Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha off on a grand adventure together. Fittingly, watching Yashahime opens a time tunnel of its own, directing its energy into pure concentrated nostalgia for Inuyasha, which is absolutely worth watching whether you’re completely new to the series or a long-time fan.
