Charles Martinet spent years voicing the characters Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi, but was recast and put into a different role as “Mario Ambassador.” That’s far from the only voice change in the Super Mario Bros. video game franchise, though, as we now have new voice actors for Peach, Toad, Toadette and more.
Samantha Kelly was Peach’s voice actress for almost two decades, having started in the role in 2007. But beginning with Mario Kart World for Nintendo Switch 2, Courtney Lin is taking on the roles of both Peach and Baby Peach. Some of Lin’s other voice credits include Anzu in Heavenly Delusion, Kana Sakuragi in Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc., and Redelard Tradoll in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM.
The main Toad, who had previously been played by Kelly as well, is now voiced by Laila Berzins. Some of Berzins’ other credits include Fey in Ascendance of a Bookworm, Shiina in Ranking of Kings, and Bonjiri in Megalobox.
Toadette is now voiced by Laura Stahl, whose credits include Gil in Ascendance of a Bookworm, Homura Kōgetsu in Edens Zero, and Hayato Kawajiri in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable.
Paul Castro Jr. is now voicing the male Toads. You may have heard him as mini Vegeta in Dragon Ball Daima, Ryota Miyagi in The First Slam Dunk, and Hibiki Sakurama in Go! Go! Loser Ranger!
Each of these voice actors shared online that they were the new voices.
Jen Taylor and Nicole Mills are two other voice talents who have played Princess Peach in the past.
Mario’s new voice actor is Kevin Afghani.
Nintendo gave this description of Mario Kart World:
