GIRLS und PANZER Anime Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Virtual Concert

girls und panzer

The original GIRLS und PANZER TV anime aired its first episode in Japan on October 9, 2012 and ultimately ran for 12 episodes until March 25, 2013, with OVAs and a six-part film series to eventually follow. The 10th anniversary celebration continues for the wargaming girls, and a new part of the project includes the series’ first virtual concert.

The previously planned Oarai Kairaku Festa was canceled in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and there hasn’t been an event in the town in which the main story is set since. As a result, this virtual space has been set up so fans can attend from afar, and the “Girls und Panzer Let’s Begin! Kasho-dō (The Way of Singing) Virtual Live ~Gather all in Oarai!!!!!!!” concert will kick off on August 19 at 8:00pm Japan Time (4:00am PT/7:00am ET)

Footage for the concert will be filmed in Oarai and will have theme song artists in live-action mixed with 3D model characters. Members of the cast joining the concert include Mai Fuchigami (Miho), Ai Kayano (Saori), Mami Ozaki (Hana), Ikumi Nakagami (Yukari) and Yuka Iguchi (Mako) along with theme song performers Choucho and Sayaka Sasaki.

Streaming platforms and overseas availability will be announced at a later date, and no VR goggles or other special equipment will be required. Tickets will be priced at ¥3,800, or about US$27.
