This month marks the 20th anniversary of Hiromu Arakawa’s Fullmetal Alchemist manga, which made its debut in the pages of Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine back in July 2001. It’s not going to pass by without something to celebrate it, and that something is on the way in the form of a special program that will be streamed on YouTube Live and the magazine’s official feed on July 12 at 8:00pm Japan Time (4:00am Pacific).
The special program will feature lead anime voice cast members Romi Park (Edward Elric) and Rie Kugimiya (Alphonse Elric) looking back on the history of the series and their memories of it. There will also be some new information revealed, but we’ll have to stay tuned to find out what’s next for the series.
Look for the 20th anniversary site to launch earlier that morning at 10:00am Japan Time (6:00pm PT on July 11), and park yourself on the video below to watch the event as it happens.
