Fullmetal Alchemist Creator’s New Manga Debuts December 10

Fullmetal Alchemist Creator’s New Manga Debuts December 10Back in July, we learned that Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa would be launching a new manga. Now we have more info, including the manga’s debut date: December 10.

Oh yeah, we’ve got a name, too: Yomi no Tsugai. That translates to The Hinge of the Underworld. The manga will debut in the December 10 issue of Monthly Shonen Gangan.

It’s about a young boy named Yuru who lives in a remote mountain village, and his twin sister, who works in the village jail. As the story progresses Yuru learns more about a mystery surrounding his village.

Aside from FMA, Arakawa is also known for Silver Spoon and the manga adaptation of Arslan.

Always good to see some new Arakawa manga! Looking forward to December 10.

Here’s how Viz describes FMA:

In an alchemical ritual gone wrong, Edward Elric lost his arm and his leg, and his brother Alphonse became nothing but a soul in a suit of armor. Equipped with mechanical “auto-mail” limbs, Edward becomes a state alchemist, seeking the one thing that can restore his and his brother’s bodies…the legendary Philosopher’s Stone.
