The beginning of the end is upon us for the Fire Force manga. Author Atsushi Ohkubo hopped on Twitter to announce that the final chapter was submitted for the series last night.
“The final chapter has been submitted,” Ohkubo said, adding that he still has a lot of work to do. As for when we’ll see this chapter, that remains to be seen, but the series should be continuing for at least a few more weeks in the pages of Weekly Shonen Magazine.

Without any plans in place yet for a new series, Ohkubo said it feels like he doesn’t “have much of a job anymore.” In contrast, when the author submitted the final chapter of Soul Eater, the Fire Force manga was already confirmed to be on the way to the magazine. While Ohkubo has an idea for a new story, there’s currently no timeline in place for when it will be drawn.
Crunchyroll streamed the first two Fire Force seasons as they aired and describes the series:
Tokyo is burning, and citizens are mysteriously suffering from spontaneous human combustion all throughout the city! Responsible for snuffing out this inferno is the Fire Force, and Shinra is ready to join their fight. Now, as part of Company 8, he’ll use his devil’s footprints to help keep the city from turning to ash! But his past and a burning secret behind the scenes could set everything ablaze.
