Final Fantasy IX Gets Animated Series by French Studio

Final Fantasy IX Gets Animated Series by French StudioRemember Final Fantasy IX? Less hyped than VII, VIII or X, the game nonetheless has a hardcore contingent of fans. That contingent seems to include Cyber Group Studios, an animation studio based in France. They’ve announced they’re producing an animated series based on the game. The series is due out sometime late this year or early in 2022.

Cyber Group Studios was founded in 2004, and has produced several 2D and 3D animated series, mostly aimed at children.

If you’re looking to check out Final Fantasy IX, it’s currently available on Switch and Xbox One. Here’s how Square Enix describes it:

Zidane and the Tantalus Theater Troupe have kidnapped Princess Garnet, the heir of Alexandria. To their surprise, however, the princess herself yearned to escape the castle. Through a series of unusual circumstances, she and her personal guard, Steiner, fall in with Zidane and set out on an incredible journey. Meeting unforgettable characters like Vivi and Quina along the way, they learn about themselves, the secrets of the Crystal, and a malevolent force that threatens to destroy their world.
