The Japanese convenience chain store Lawson has teamed up with Evangelion for special ATMs that were meant to coincide with the movie Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time coming out in theaters. The movie’s debut has been held up because of COVID, but Lawson is moving ahead with those ATM plans.
According to SoraNews24, the ATMs feature “the characters, fonts, and other visual design cues” from the fan favorite anime. But the icing on the cake for fans is probably the fact that the ATMs will have Misato, Asuka, and Shinji talk to you. Their Japanese voice over actors have recorded lines to help you with your money transactions, and each actor/character gets some time in the spotlight. Misato will be helping customers now through January 24. From January 25 to the end of the month Asuka will take over the task, then Shinji’s voice will come through from the start of February through the 14th.
