Cosplay is impressive enough on its own, but it really goes to a whole new level when you throw mecha into the mix. @CosTeam5 specializes in just such marvels, with the pair having created cosplay inspired by Metal Gear, Armored Core, and more. One of their latest is a Tachikoma robot from Ghost in the Shell, and the results look incredible.
The Kansai-based CosTeam consists of cosplayers Heinz and Moetetsu, who work together on armor-intensive cosplay and robotics-inspired (and incorporated) outfits. They put their Tachikoma together to show off at Super Robocos Expo—which, as the name implies, is an all-robot cosplay gathering that takes place in Osaka—and you can see it as it appeared at the event earlier this year below.
動いてます!!タチコマが動いてますよ!!
中にはしっかり制作者さんが入っており、「タチコマのコスプレ」ということですが……

You see, not only is CosTeam’s Tachikoma a full-scale recreation, it’s actually rideable! The operator can move it without any outside assistance, and if you want to know how it came together, CosTeam has you covered.

For samples of their other amazing work, here’s a look at their White Glint from Armored Core: For Answer, followed by Metal Gear REX from Metal Gear Solid.
This is definitely something we’d never tire of seeing, so hopefully they have more in the works.
