CITY The Animation is Amazon Prime Video-Bound Globally

When CITY The Animation debuts next month, it will do so on Amazon Prime Video all around the world. Amazon Prime Japan announced these plans earlier this month, setting the series up for a July 7 streaming premiere at 12:30am Japan Time. That puts its U.S. debut on July 6.

You can see an English-subtitled trailer from June 7 here on the official X (formerly Twitter) account for the series. You can also hit the CC button on the YouTube version below for subs.

Tachi Ishidate (Violet Evergarden) directs, with Tamami Tokuyama (animation director for Sound! Euphonium) on character designs and chief animation direction for the Kyoto Animation production. The series is set to premiere this July.

Kodansha USA publishes the manga—which comes from Keiichi Arawi, the author behind Nichijou—in English. Here’s how Kyoto Animation describes the series:
