Chef Reveals How to Make a Catbus Dessert

The grand opening of Studio Ghibli Park is only a few months away, and it promises to have delicious foods themed after Ghibli movies. Well, they might be interested in hiring a person who goes by Manna-Tanuki online (the Twitter handle is @maaco414). This chef is obsessed with the details, and shared a video on how she made an amazing Catbus macaron, based on the character in My Neighbor Totoro.

As you can see, not only is Catbus there, but extra details were added to include passengers! And the chef makes all of this look super easy.

But this isn’t the only thing Manna-Tanuka has made that would catch the interest of otaku. Check out these marshmallow Kirbys that look like little toys.

SoraNews24 translated some of the online replies to the Catbus dessert:

“If someone made this for me, I think it’d keep me happy for the next 10 years.”
“But it’s so cute that eating it would feel like a waste.”
“Whoa, that looks soooo tasty!”

Are you hungry yet from watching these videos? Are you inspired to make them yourself?

GKIDS gave this description of My Neighbor Totoro:

“When Satsuki and her sister Mei move with their father to a new home in the countryside, they find country life is not as simple as it seems. They soon discover that the house and nearby woods are full of strange and delightful creatures, including a gigantic but gentle forest spirit called Totoro, who can only be seen by children. Totoro and his friends introduce the girls to a series of adventures, including a ride aboard the extraordinary Cat Bus, in this all-ages animated masterpiece featuring the voices of Tim Daly, Lea Salonga, and real-life sisters Dakota and Elle Fanning, in early roles.”
