Initially only vaguely hinted at by director Takashi Miike (Audition, Yatterman) himself, the live-action adaptation of Capcom’s Phoenix Wright game series has since been made official.

The film will star Hiroki Narimiya (Nana, Akihabara@DEEP) as Wright, with Takumi Saito (Space Battleship Yamato, 20th Century Boys: Final) playing his foil in the form of rival Miles Edgeworth. Mirei Kiritani (Arakawa Under the Bridge TV) will play Wright’s psychic assistant Maya Fey. And bam, just like that we have an official website.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – The Movie (working title) is scheduled for release in Japan in the spring of 2012.
