Blue Lock Soccer Anime Scores Trailer for Chigiri Hyoma

blue lock

Based on the manga of the same name written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, the Blue Lock anime is on the way to deliver some soccer action sometime this year. While we wait for a concrete date, a new character trailer has arrived to put the spotlight on Chigiri Hyoma, the “Visual of Egoist” who is voiced by Soma Saito (Hermes in Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?).

Check it out along with a character visual for Chigiri below.

Tetsuaki Watanabe (episodes of Haikyu!!) is on board as the director of Blue Lock, which is being produced at eightbit. Here’s how Kodansha Comics describes the original manga:

After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team struggles to regroup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win. The Japan Football Union is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match…and to do so, they’ve gathered 300 of Japan’s best and brightest youth players. Who will emerge to lead the team…and will they be able to out-muscle and out-ego everyone who stands in their way?
