Blue Giant Manga Moves Into New York Arc This July

Blue Giant Manga Moves Into New York Arc This JulyBlue Giant is heading to New York. The manga by Shinichi Ishizuka about Japanese jazz saxophonist Dai will enter its “New York arc” this July.

That’s following Blue Giant, Blue Giant Supreme and Blue Giant Explorer, all of which track Dai’s journey from a young man in Sendai to his ascendancy in the world of jazz.

The manga recently inspired a film adaptation directed by Yuzuru Tachibana which has earned over 1 billion yen in Japan.

Here’s looking forward to how the Japanese jazzman fares in the Big Apple. Here’s how Seven Seas describes Blue Giant:

Miyamoto Dai, a student with a taste for basketball, changes his life the first time he sees a live jazz performance. The incredible music strikes a chord deep inside him, and he immediately decides to dedicate himself to the saxophone. He has no skills, no formal training, and no idea what he’s up against, but his obsession drives him to play that instrument day after day. Will passion be enough to become the player of his dreams?
