AnimeJapan 2021 Will Be Held In Person and Online Next March

AnimeJapan 2021 Will Be Held In Person and Online Next MarchAside from Comiket, AnimeJapan is one of Japan’s biggest events for all things anime, manga and more. This year, the event was canceled due to you-know-what. But it’s just been announced that Anime Japan 2021 will happen.

The event is set for March 2021, with public days on March 27 and 28 and business days on March 29 and 30. As usual, it’ll take place at Tokyo Big Sight (plus the online component).

That means people from around the world can participate online. The theme of AnimeJapan 2021 is “connection.”

Here’s the official announcement from AnimeJapan:

We are extremely happy to announce the return of AnimeJapan in 2021. After the cancellation of the previous edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic,  we are coming back to Tokyo Big Sight for the first time in 2 years.

Animation can be a source of strength and hope for many in these trying times, and that is why after many discussions among the organizers we agreed to hold the event as before at the Tokyo venue. What is more, to reach those who cannot attend the event in person, we are preparing many new online contents as well.

This will be the 8th edition of AnimeJapan and the word “connection” was chosen as this year’s main theme. Using the number 8 and the symbol ∞ (infinity) as our inspiration, we will do our best to make sure this event will also continue from now on. We are counting on the support of all our sponsors and exhibitors, but even more, of all of you who enjoy AnimeJapan each year.

This is our first step in this new age, with the brand new offline and online AnimeJapan. We hope you will help us make this edition a special one!
