Aikatsu Planet! aired as the first anime/live-action hybrid series in the Aikatsu! idol franchise from January to June of this year, and now it’s getting a movie. As revealed during the Sunrise Festival 2021 REGENERATION event at Tokyo’s Toho Cinemas Shinjuku theater, the theatrical project is due out sometime in summer 2022.
There aren’t really any further details to go on at the moment, but director Ryuichi Kimura said, “It’s going to be a very fun film, so I want to do my best to make everyone happy.”

While we wait for more about the movie, there’s also a Mirror In☆Lab web variety show, which kicked off on YouTube on September 9. A new CG short recently debuted in the Bloomy*Cafe section, and new shorts will premiere every Thursday at 8:00pm Japan Time.
