Earlier this month, the Transformers line of toys, cartoons and more released a special video in Japan to mark the franchise’s 40th anniversary. Titled “We Are Not Alone,” the result is an impressive video full of stop-motion animation that has the Transformers figures coming to life right there on the shelf.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or just dabble in the world of Transformers, you’ll find something familiar and recognizable in the over seven minutes of stop-motion action below.

The video originally made its way to the T-SPARK YouTube channel on February 13.
The latest anniversary milestone for Transformers fell in 2024, when the franchise initially started its celebration of 40 years since Hasbro introduced the line back in 1984. Decades of toys, anime, movies, video games and other media have followed since, making it one of the most recognizable staples of pop culture.
Previously, anime production house Studio TRIGGER marked its own celebration of the anniversary with a dynamic anime video.
