Tetsuo Hara Draws Official Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga IllustrationIt’s a match made on fury road. Tetsuo Hara, the famous artist behind manga like Fist of the North Star, has just created an official illustration to promote the upcoming film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

The illustration portrays the robot-armed Furiosa, played in the upcoming film by Anya Taylor-Joy, in Hara’s signature style. Hara, who was given a sneak peek at the film, had the following to say about it:

Everything was great! It was interesting from beginning to end! I am one of the many people influenced by director George Miller. I didn’t think he’d make any more Mad Max movies, but he’s still coming up with new ways to create! I was really bowled over by the fact that he is still showing us new visual worlds. I really want him to make me his apprentice!

Hara’s illustration will be featured in the May 21 edition of the movie magazine Eiga Hiho, which will also feature a conversation between Hara and Miller.

Back in the day, George Miller was planning to make an anime Mad Max film, for which Mahiro Maeda contributed some designs, including character designs for Furiosa.
