People working at the Kyoto District Legal Affairs Bureau are supposed to be upholding the law, not breaking it. But an employee recently filed a damage report, alleging that another worker physically assaulted him — over giving away spoilers for Oshi no Ko!
According to reports, an official at Kyoto District Legal Affairs Bureau, as well as one of his subordinates, were talking in the office. Both men are in their 50s. Then the subordinate let spill what happens in the manga. The official, who apparently hadn’t reached that point, allegedly got very angry, stating, “I hate being told spoilers,” and got physical by seizing the subordinate’s collar and kicking him around his waist area. All of this reportedly happened on February 1. No one’s names were released to the public.
The subordinate thankfully did not suffer any serious side effects and is doing okay. He then filed a report, and the Uji Police Station got involved. The police investigated, and then sent paperwork to prosecutors late last month about suspicion of assault.
Kyoto District Legal Affairs Bureau avoided giving a statement to the press, saying what happened is still being investigated.
Oshi no Ko is a highly popular manga series that also has a highly popular anime. HIDIVE is streaming the anime adaptation, which it says had the most successful launch of any show on its platform. Yen Press publishes the original manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari and gave this description for the first volume:
