Previously just set for sometime in April, we now have a concrete launch date for golf anime Oi! Tonbo. The series looks as fun as ever in the latest trailer that recently made its way online to reveal April 6 premiere plans. Check out the five-minute video below, which also features comments by Rika Hayashi (Tonbo Oi) and Hiroki Tochi (Kazuyoshi Igarashi), who lead the voice cast for the series.
The Oi! Tonbo anime is being directed by Oh Jin koo, with Mitsuki Hirota on series composition and Kei Takeuchi adapting the original character designs. Nobuko Toda is on music and animation production is being handled by OLM.
The official site sums up the story:
Igarashi, who Left the past behind and running away from the world, moved to the Tokara Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture. On Hinoshima Island, which is said to be “the last unexplored region in Japan,” Igarashi meets Tonbo, the only junior high school student on the island. The innocent girl has an incredible talent for golf! This encounter will change the destiny of the two…
