Oi! Tonbo Golf Anime Reveals April 2024 Premiere Plans

A few more details have been revealed for the Oi! Tonbo anime, which is based on the golf manga written by Ken Kawasaki and illustrated by Yu Furusawa. The series is now set to kick off sometime in April 2024, with Rika Hayashi in the lead as protagonist Tonbo Oi and Hiroki Touchi voicing Iga Igarashi.

The theme songs have also been revealed. Sacra e sole is on board for opening theme song “Habatake” (“Spread Your Wings”) and TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI will close things out with ending theme song “Let’s Swing.” 

The Oi! Tonbo anime is being directed by Oh Jin koo, with Mitsuki Hirota on series composition and Kei Takeuchi adapting the original character designs. Nobuko Toda is on music and animation production is being handled by OLM. Here’s a previous trailer for a look at what’s in the works:

Igarashi, who Left the past behind and running away from the world, moved to the Tokara Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture. On Hinoshima Island, which is said to be “the last unexplored region in Japan,” Igarashi meets Tonbo, the only junior high school student on the island. The innocent girl has an incredible talent for golf! This encounter will change the destiny of the two…
