A new trailer has arrived along with more info on The Eminence in Shadow 2nd Season, which is set to premiere this October. In addition to showing more of the story to unfold, the trailer announces and samples the anime’s new opening theme song, “grayscale dominator,” which marks the return of season 1 OP performer OxT.
The main staff is back for the second season. It’s being made at Nexus, with Kazuya Nakanishi helming the project as director. The task of overseeing series scripts goes to Kanichi Katou, who is known for working on Black Clover. The anime’s music is composed by Kenichiro Suehiro of Shadows House, Cells at Work! and more.
HIDIVE streamed the first season and plans to stream the second this October, summing up the story like so:
Some people just aren’t suited to playing the part of the flashy, in-your-face hero or the dastardly, mustache-twirling villain with larger-than-life panache. Instead, they operate in the shadows and pull the strings of society through wit and cleverness. That’s the role Cid wants to play when he’s transported to another world. Cid spins a yarn or three and becomes the unlikely leader of the underground Shadow Garden organization that fights against a menacing cult (which he totally made up). However, there’s a catch even his wild imagination didn’t see coming: the cult he concocted actually exists, and they’re beyond displeased that his power fantasy just got in the way of their evil plans!
