The Pokémon franchise releases a lot of merchandise, and now that includes a plushie of Wiglett, a Pokémon who was introduced in last year’s Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The new plushie is already attracting a lot of attention online, but it’s not for the usual reasons. No, it’s because some people think it looks like a sex toy — more so at certain angles than others — and the internet is LOLing all over it.
The Pokémon store gave this description of it — and some of the details only make the connection funnier:
Although Wiglett resembles Diglett, it’s actually its own separate species with a different diet, habitat, and type. In any case, this long Poké Plush version of the Garden Eel Pokémon is ready to stand tall as part of your plush collection, perched on your couch, coffee table, or bookshelf.
Measures about 10 ¼ inches tall and 4 ¾ inches wide
Bendable body lets you create custom poses
Soft fabric and embroidered details
A Water-type Pokémon originally discovered in Paldea
Pokémon Center Original
The plushie has already led to news stories with titles like “New Wiglett Pokémon Plush Looks A Lot Like Something Else” and “Pokemon Is Raising Brows Over Its Most NSFW Plush Yet.”
If you’re interested in the Wiglett plushie — for whatever reason — it’s selling at $24.99.
Nintendo gave this description for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet:
Catch, battle, and train Pokémon in the Paldea Region, a vast land filled with lakes, towering peaks, wastelands, small towns, and sprawling cities. Explore a wide-open world at your own pace and traverse land, water, and air by riding on a form-shifting Legendary Pokémon—Koraidon in Pokémon Scarlet and Miraidon in Pokémon Violet. Choose either Sprigatito, Fuecoco, or Quaxly, to be your first partner Pokémon before setting off on your journey through Paldea.
