TV anime plans were revealed for Katarina’s Shangri-La Frontier web novel—which also has a manga adaptation by Ryosuke Fuji—back in July 2022, and it’s now gearing up for an October 2023 premiere in Japan and on Crunchyroll. While we wait, a new trailer for the manga adaptation is here along with voices provided by the anime’s cast, including Yuuma Uchida as Sunraku, Azumi Waki as Saiga-0, Yoko Hikasa as Arthur Pencilgon, Makoto Koichi as Oicazzo, and Akio Ohtsuka as Weiß Ash.
Check it out and see more of Fuji’s art in the video below.
Toshiyuki Kubooka is directing the Shangri-La Frontier anime at anime production house C2C. Kodansha Comics publishes the manga adaptation by Ryosuke Fuji—which previously got a promo video of its own—and describes it:
Second-year high school student Rakuro Hizutome is interested in one thing only: finding “shitty games” and beating the crap out of them. His gaming skills are second to none, and no game is too bad for him to enjoy. So when he’s introduced to the new VR game Shangri-La Frontier, he does what he does best—min-maxes and skips the prologue to jump straight into the action. But can even an expert gamer like Rakuro discover all the secrets that Shangri-La Frontier hides…?
