Star Wars: Visions Volume 2 Goes Global with May 4 Premiere

star wars: visions volume 2

A date has been set for the premiere of Star Wars: Visions volume 2, which continues the varied anthology of the first. This time, however, it won’t just be anime creators getting in on the Star Wars fun. In fact, there’s only one studio based in Japan that’s involved, with the rest hailing from all corners of the world to expand the vision further.

We’ll get to check them all out when they hit Disney+ on May 4.

All told, there will be nine new shorts, including one by Japan’s D’ART Shtajio, featuring LeAndre Thomas as director. Here’s the full list, including the studio, director and country of origin for each short:

  • Cartoon Saloon – Paul Young – “Screechers’ Reach” – Ireland
  • PunkRobot Studio Gabriel Osorio – “In the Stars” – Chile
  • Studio Mir – Hyeong Geun Park – “Journey to the Dark Head” – South Korea
  • Aardman Animations – Magdalena Osinska – “I Am Your Mother” – United Kingdom
  • Triggerfish Animation Studios – Nadia Darries and Daniel Clarke – “Aau’s Song” – South Africa
  • D’ART Shtajio and Lucasfilm Ltd. – LeAndre Thomas – “The Pit” – Japan
  • Studio La Cachette – Julien Chheng – “The Spy Dancer” – France
  • 88 Pictures – Ishan Shukla – “The Bandits of Golak” – India
  • El Guiri Studios – Rodrigo Blaas – “Sith” – Spain

The first Star Wars: Visions anthology was all anime, including the work of Kamikaze Doga, Studio Colorido, Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Production I.G., Science SARU and Geno Studio.
