LA, NYC Getting Advanced Screening of Kaguya-sama: Love is War Third Season

kaguya-sama season 3

The third season of the Kaguya-sama: Love is War anime, titled Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai -Ultra Romantic-, is coming out on April 9. But some lucky fans will get to see it early, thanks to Aniplex of America. The American premiere advanced screening will take place on April 2 in Los Angeles and New York, both hosted by Aniplex.

The L.A. event will occur at the Aratani Theater at 4:00 PM PDT, while the one in New York will be at the Japan Society at 7:00 PM EDT. Technically, that’s the same time, but in different time zones.

The L.A. event is listed on Eventbrite, where people can get tickets ranging from $15 to $35. The page explains:

“The premiere event will feature an advance screening of Episode 1 (Japanese audio with English subtitles), plus a talk show featuring the main cast Aoi Koga (Kaguya Shinomiya), Makoto Furukawa (Miyuki Shirogane), Konomi Konohara (Chika Fujiwara), Ryota Suzuki (Yu Ishigami), and Miyu Tomita (Miko Iino).

Premium ticket holders will get early admission in addition to a poster and a limited-edition tote bag featuring Kaguya and her iconic ‘How cute’.”

Aniplex gave this description of the series:

“Love makes fools out of geniuses as student council members Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane return to engage in a highly cerebral warfare where the first to confess their love loses!

The quick-witted and hilarious anime based on Aka Akasaka’s manga series published in WEEKLY YOUNG JUMP magazine is produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Mamoru Hatakeyama.

The highly acclaimed series has won multiple awards at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards including back-to-back Best Comedy awards in 2020 and 2021.”

In order to attend, you will need to prove you’re fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If you live anywhere near L.A. or New York, are you interested in attending this early viewing?
