Aka Akasaka’s Kaguya-sama: Love is War manga is heading back to the screen for more anime, this time in the form of a new TV special. Aniplex announced plans for Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Otona e no Kaidan (The Steps to Become an Adult) along with a new visual.
Details are fairly light beyond that, but you can see the piece of art that goes along with the announcement below.
The manga first kicked off in the pages of Shueisha’s Miracle Jump magazine back in May 2015 before moving to Young Jump the following March. Akasaka brought the series to an end in November 2022, inspiring three anime seasons and a movie along the way. All the seasons are available to stream on Crunchyroll with the Kaguya-sama: Love Is War -The First Kiss That Never Ends- TV specials.
VIZ Media publishes the Kaguya-sama manga and sums up the story like so:
All’s fair when love is war!
Two geniuses. Two brains. Two hearts. One battle. Who will confess their love first…?!
Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane are two geniuses who stand atop their prestigious academy’s student council, making them the elite among elite. But it’s lonely at the top and each has fallen for the other. There’s just one huge problem standing in the way of lovey-dovey bliss—they’re both too prideful to be the first to confess their romantic feelings and thus become the “loser” in the competition of love! And so begins their daily schemes to force the other to confess first!
