The My Dress-Up Darling anime—based on the manga of the same name by Shinichi Fukuda—continues to be a hit with viewers, and its success has translated to more copies of the source material in circulation. Earlier this month we posted about the manga adding an additional one million volumes to its circulation since the anime debuted, and now its total number of copies is at a nice milestone of five million.
Fukuda thanked fans on Twitter, saying “The total print run has reached five million copies! Thank you so much to everyone who has purchased my manga!”

The My Dress-Up Darling anime is currently streaming on Crunchyroll and Funimation. Here’s the official synopsis:
Wakana Gojo is a high school boy who wants to become a kashirashi–a master craftsman who makes traditional Japanese Hina dolls. Though he’s gung-ho about the craft, he knows nothing about the latest trends, and has a hard time fitting in with his class. The popular kids–especially one girl, Marin Kitagawa–seem like they live in a completely different world. That all changes one day, when she shares an unexpected secret with him, and their completely different worlds collide.
