Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, the CG continuation of Stand Alone Complex, came out last year on Netflix. Now it’s been re-edited into a compilation film that’s set to hit theaters in Japan on November 12.
Its title is Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Sustainable Warfare (Jizoku Kanō Sensō), referring to one of the major plot points of the series.
The film will play in Japanese theaters for 2 weeks.
Meanwhile, for those of you waiting for the second season of this particular anime, don’t worry: it’s coming… eventually. For more Kenji Kamiyama/Shinji Aramaki CG cyberpunk stuff, you can also check out the upcoming Blade Runner: Black Lotus, which is set to hit later this year.
Here’s how the ‘flix describes Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045:
In the year 2045, the world has entered a systematic “Sustainable War.” Hired as a mercenary unit, the former members of Japan’s elite Section 9 are faced with the sudden appearance of “Post-Human,” a being with tremendous intelligence and physical capabilities.
