Singer LiSA and her singer/voice actor husband Tatsuhisa Suzuki (a.k.a. vocalist Ta_2 from OLDCODEX) have both announced hiatuses. The couple shared the news of their marriage last year, at the very beginning of 2020.
Mental and physical fatigue are listed for LiSA’s reasons for the hiatus. Suzuki is listed as having been “in poor health” in recent days. A more detailed description or a reason for the poor health have not been released publicly. LiSA has cancelled her “LiVE is Smile Always ~Ladybug~” concerts, and Sony Music Artists Inc. and Sacra Music promised to get back to fans about refunds. Those concerts were supposed to take place this coming weekend.
And since Suzuki is the vocalist, OLDCODEX has called off its appearance at the “Animelo Summer Live 2021 Colors” concert, which is scheduled to take place on August 29.
These hiatuses were announced days after the Japanese news outlet Weekly Bunshun published an article alleging that Suzuki cheated on LiSA with another woman. LiSA and Suzuki did not mention these allegations when they declared they were going on hiatuses.
LiSA has seen a major rise in her career after she sang the opening song to Demon Slayer, “Gurenge.” Besides her work on the Demon Slayer anime, she has sung opening theme songs for Sword Art Online, Sword Art Online II, Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale, Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld, My Hero Academia, Fate/Zero, il sole penetra le illusioni ~ Day Break Illusion, Nisekoi:, The irregular at magic high school, and Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works.
Suzuki, meanwhile, has provided his voice talents to play Ban in Seven Deadly Sins, Tasuku Senoo in Prince of Stride: Alternative, Shinya Hiragi in Seraph of the End, Kazunari Takao in Kuroko’s Basketball and Yūji Sakamoto in Baka and Test – Summon the Beasts, to name a few.
