Tokusatsu Mangaka Daiji Kazumine Has Passed Away at 84

daiji kazumineMangaka Daiji Kazumine, who made his manga debut in 1956 when he was only 21, has passed away at age 84. According to reports, he died late last month from cerebral hemorrhage and lobar pneumonia.

His first manga was Karakuri Yashiki no Himitsu. He went on to work on manga adaptations of Ultraman shows Ultraseven, Ultraman Leo, and Ultraman 80. Keeping with this tokusatsu theme, he additionally worked on manga adaptations of Godzilla, Spectreman, Super Giant and National Kid. As a talented and prolific mangaka, he was a member of the Japan Cartoonists Association.
