VESPA’s mobile RPG KING’S RAID is coming to Japanese TV this October in the form of an anime adaptation. Now, the latest update is here to reveal the KING’S RAID anime OP and ED performers ahead of the series debut, which is lined up for October. Man, October is going to be a busy month.
The KING’S RAID anime OP will be “legendary future,” performed by none other than fripSide. The episodes will then close out with the “SticK Out” ED, as performed by KOTOKO.
Featuring an original story set in the kingdom of Orvelia one century after demon king Angumundo’s defeat, KING’S RAID: Heir of the Will boasts animation production by OLMxSUNRISE BEYOND. Makoto Hoshino—who previously worked as episode director on episodes of Sword Art Online, ERASED, and Hell Girl: Three Vessels, just to name a few—is attached as director. Other staff members include series composition writer Megumi Shimizu (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom) and character designer/chief animation director Tatsuya Arai (BanG! Dream animation director).
We may not have a sample of the KING’S RAID anime OP or ED yet, but here’s some footage of the show from one of the previous trailers.
And here’s an action-packed key visual:
We first posted about the KING’S RAID anime back in April, when it was initially announced. As Matt mentioned then, the original game is a free-to-play side-scrolling RPG from South Korean developer VESPA. The story of the game centers around a knight-in-training who’s searching for his missing brother. KING’S RAID has racked up 13 million downloads across 150 countries, so it sounds like turning this one into an anime series was a bit of a no-brainer.
We’ll see just how the OLMxSUNRISE BEYOND production turns out when it debuts as part of the stacked fall season this October.
