Anime studio NUT (The Saga of Tanya the Evil) has an original TV anime on the way in the form of DECA-DENCE. The sci-fi series got a brand new full promo video this week, showing off more footage while announcing a July 8 premiere date for Japan.
Check it out along with a sample of the anime’s OP song, Konomi Suzuki’s “Theater of Life,” below.
Suzuki’s single is scheduled to be released in Japan shortly after the anime, on July 29.

There’s also an illustration video by concept designer pomodorosa. In addition to featuring some awesome art in action, the video samples the anime’s ED theme, Kashitaro Ito’s “Kioku no Hakobune.” That single hits stores in Japan on the same day as the OP.
Mob Psycho 100 director Yuzuru Tachikawa is at the helm here, with Hiroshi Seko (Dorohedoro) as story editor.
Synopsis:
Many years have passed since humanity was driven to the brink of extinction by the sudden emergence of the unknown life forms Gadoll. Those humans that survived now dwell in a 3000m-high mobile fortress Deca-dence built to protect themselves from the Gadoll threat. Denizens of Deca-dence fall into two categories: Gears, warriors who fight the Gadoll daily, and Tankers, those without the skills to fight. One day, Natsume, a Tanker girl who dreams of becoming a Gear meets surly Kaburagi, an armor repairman of Deca-dence. This chance meeting between the seemingly two opposites, the girl with a positive attitude who never gives up on her dreams and the realist who has given up on his, will eventually shake the future course of this world.
