With Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2 currently airing, some fans are wondering whether the anime series will continue for a fourth season or end once we find out what the heck is in Eren’s basement.
Regardless, Wit, the studio which has been animating Titan since the beginning, seems to be calling it quits once season 3 wraps up.
That’s the news from reliable fan site Sakuga Blog, who say they’ve spoken with “multiple first and second-hand sources.”
What does this mean for Attack on Titan if it does continue to season 4 and beyond? Sakuga Blog speculates the series will be handed over to another studio, possibly within the Production I.G umbrella in which Wit operates. In that case, though, the production will have to make due without Wit creatives who have set the tone for the series, such as series director Tetsuro Araki.
Wit Studio was founded in 2012 by Production I.G big bosses George Wada and Tetsuya Nakatake. Aside from Titan, which brought it to prominence, it’s animated productions like The Rolling Girls, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress and Hal.
