Weathering With You, Makoto Shinkai’s followup to Your Name, is out in Japan and raking in the yens. It’s not due out in the States until 2020, unfortunately, but to get a taste of the film — literally — why not try making some of the food that pops up on screen?
The two dishes, whose recipes have been released by cooking site Kurashiru, are both served to male protagonist Hodaka by Hina, the titular Tenki no Ko (weather child) of the Japanese title.
Hina’s treats are potato chip fried rice and instant ramen salad, both of which are simple to make even without an Asian supermarket near by.

Then one day, Hokoda meets Hina on a busy street corner. This bright and strongwilled girl possesses a strange and wonderful ability: the power to stop the rain and clear the sky…
