A live-action film adaptation of Wataru Yoshizumi’s Marmalade Boy manga is coming to theaters in Japan on April 27, and Warner Bros. Japan is here with a couple quick new peeks. See more footage and sample GReeeeN’s “Koi” theme song in the TV spots below.
Ryo Yoshizawa takes the lead as the “Marmalade Boy” himself, Yuu Matsura, working alongside Hinako Sakurai as his stepsister Miki. She gives him this strange name as a way of expressing his sweet and bitter attitude. While the two don’t initially get along after their parents divorce and swap partners, they eventually find themselves falling for each other.
Ryuichi Hiroki (live-action Strobe Edge, Wolf Girl and Black Prince<span class=”s1″>) directs the adaptation, with Taeko Asano (Nana, Love Generation) on the screenplay.
