Akira Mural Pops up In Shibuya, Tokyo [Video]

Akira Mural Pops up In Shibuya, Tokyo [Video]Tokyo, meet Neo-Tokyo.

In the latest of our social media clips, we take a trip to Shibuya, where in recent months, a mural celebrating the Katsuhiro Otomo classic Akira has appeared.

The giant mural wraps around the construction site of Parco, a department store being rebuilt from scratch in the area.

Date of completion? 2019, the year when the original manga (and legendary film) take place. Coincidence? Yeah, probably. But this is a pretty darn cool way for a department store to decorate an otherwise-boring white wall as they build.

What other parts of Tokyo would you like to see us bring our cameras? Let us know!
