Megalo Box Anime Teases Its Futuristic Boxing Action

One of the projects celebrating 50 years of Ikki Kajiwara and Tetsuya Chiba’s boxing manga Ashita no Joe—AKA Tomorrow’s Joe—is the futuristic spinoff anime Megalo Box. In this world, man and machine become one to box with the assistance of robotics, and you can see a sample of the intense action in the trailer below.

You Moriyama—who previously worked as animation director on projects like Master Keaton and Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine—directs and TMS Entertainment produces the anime, which is currently set to debut on TV in Japan this April.
