The Amanchu! anime—which adapts Kozue Amano’s 2008 comedy manga about diving—is preparing to come back in a followup. Amanchu! ~ Advance ~ will debut as part of the spring 2018 anime season in April, and a handful of new and returning staff members have already been confirmed.
Junichi Sato (Sailor Moon, Princess Tutu) is on board as chief director, while Kiyoko Sayama (Skip Beat!, Pretear) takes director duties from previous helmer Kenichi Kasai. Deko Akao (Arakawa Under the Bridge) handles the writing along with Hiroko Fukuda (scripts for Noragami, Flying Witch, and more), and Yoko Ito returns to design characters for the J.C. Staff production.
