Some stories that don’t quite deserve their own post, but are kind of interesting regardless: it’s Your Japan Update for June 2013.
Who says Tokyo has all the fun? This month Kitakinki Tango Railway Co. started offering special commemorative Space Battleship Yamato 2199 rail tickets. Geographically, that’s north of Osaka and west of Obama (yeah, for reals). They’re also running a Yamato-themed train, with the interior and exterior both decked out Yamato style. That’s neat.
Apparel and accessory maker Brain Police are now selling a replica of Saeki’s gym uniform from this season’s series Aku no Hana. Viewers of the show know the significance of the uniform, and why wearing it around town might be hilarious and/or hella sketchy. For non-viewers… watch the show! It’s great.
Kyary Pamyu “Don’t Call Me An Idol” Pamyu, our favorite J-popper, is set to release her second album, Nandacollection, on June 26th. It’ll feature recent singles “Fashion Monster,” “Invader Invader” and “Kimi ni 100 Percent,” which is the current opening song for Crayon Shin-chan. Because it always comes back to anime with us.
