It feels like the 20th Pokemon film, I Choose You!, was just released, but we’ve already got the first trailer and poster for the next film in the series.
The title of the 21st Pokemon film has yet to be announced, but it does have a release date: July 13, 2018.
The poster gives us a preview of the “as-yet-unseen friends” Satoshi and Pikachu will meet on the journey that began anew in this year’s film.
The 2018 film will be directed by Tetsuo Yajima, who served as the assistant director on I Choose You!. The director of that film, Kunihiko Yuyama, will stay on as animation supervisor. Character designs will be provided by Shizue Kaneko (Monster Strike the Movie), and the film will be animated by Wit Studio and OLM.
