YOASOBI to Headline Concerts in NYC and Boston

YOASOBI, which just performed at Coachella — as well as the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles and The Warfield in San Francisco — has announced more concerts, this time in New York City and Boston.

Before they get to those two metropolises, you’ll also be able to find them at Chicago’s Lollapalooza, which is taking place August 1-4. Right after that, on August 6, they’ll be performing at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Two days later, on August 8, you can find them at MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston. Crunchyroll is behind the New York City and Boston concerts, and is starting its pre-sale this week on April 25 at noon EST. The next day, also at noon, the general sale commences.

If you’re interested in the pre-sale, you can go here after noon on April 25 and put in CRUNCHYROLL as the special code.

YOASOBI has done theme songs for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, BEASTARS, and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, but their most successful theme is “Idol” for Oshi no Ko. Along with breaking numerous records, last year it was the most searched song on Google and was the third most common “Hum to Search” song for the search engine site. All of this led them to being performers at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, and as you can see from these events, Crunchyroll wants to continue to work with the group.

HIDIVE is streaming the Oshi no Ko anime and gave this description for its plot:

Dr. Goro is reborn as the son of the young starlet Ai Hoshino after her delusional stalker murders him. Now, he wants to help his new mother rise to the top, but what can a child do about the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry?
