My Oni Girl Film from Studio Colorido Reveals Trailer, PosterMy Oni Girl (Suki Demo Kirai na Amanojaku), the new film from Studio Colorido (Drifting Home) has just revealed a trailer and poster.

The film, directed by Tomotaka Shibayama (A Whisker Away) and written by Shibayama and Yuko Kakihara (Digimon Adventure tri.), will hit theaters in Japan and Netflix worldwide May 24.

It stars Kensho Ono as protagonist Hiiragi Yatsuse and Miyu Tomita as Tsumugi, the titular oni girl from another dimension.

Here’s how Netflix describes the film:

Yearning to get along with others and not be disliked, first-year high school student Hiiragi finds himself unable to say no whenever someone requests something of him. One summer day, while unsuccessfully carrying out yet another request, he encounters an oni girl named Tsumugi, who has come to the human world to search for her mother. She does whatever she pleases and is the complete opposite of Hiiragi. Studio Colorido presents this fantasy tale of youth that unfolds over one wintery summer.

My Oni Girl is the second of a three-picture deal between Colorido and Netflix. The first film in the deal was 2022’s Drifting Home.
