Love Live! Sunshine!! spinoff YOHANE THE PARHELION -SUNSHINE in the MIRROR aired from July to September 2023 and streamed on Crunchyroll, and now there’s some more of its music to enjoy. Ahead of a live event—titled “YOHANE THE PARHELION -The Story of the Sound of Heart-“—in Japan from December 15-17, 2023, a special music video made its way online.

This one highlights the anime’s theme song, Aqours’ “Genjitsu Mysterium,” featuring clips from the first six episodes of the YOHANE THE PARHELION TV anime.

All nine of the main voice actors from the anime will be in attendance together at the event over this coming weekend.

The illustrations by Taira Akitsu have been published in Love Live! Days Love Live! Sōgō Magazine since October 2020, and Kota Matsuda launched a manga series inspired by them back in February of 2022. The anime is directed by Asami Nakatani (Ensemble Stars!! Road to Show!!), with Toshiya Ono (86 EIGHTY-SIX) supervising scripts and Yumiko Yamamoto (Sword Art Online Alicization War of Underworld) handling character designs.

In the world of Genjitsu no Yohane -Sunshine in the Mirror-, the chunibyo-afflicted idol Yoshiko Tsushima, AKA Yohane, is reimagined as a fortune teller in a story set in the scenic harbor town of Numazu. She’s never fit in where she lives, and aspires to find her true place elsewhere in the fantasy world. Here’s how Crunchyroll sums it up:

This young fortune teller is desperate to escape her dreary small-town life. With dreams of making it big as a singer in Tokyo, Yohane finally makes the move. Unfortunately, she fails every audition and is forced to move back to her rural seaside home. But little does she know that it’s here where she embarks on a magical journey to discover the song within herself.
