What Do You Think of Imagi’s Joe Asakura?

Let’s try to forget for a moment that Imagi has been experiencing budget issues with their Astro Boy production, casting a shade of doubt on the state of their future projects, because they have a lot of cool stuff up their sleeves and it would be a shame to see them dashed. Instead, let’s take a look at their take on the second-in-command of Tatsuo Yoshida‘s classic Science Ninja Team Gatchaman

The following image was revealed on a poster at the 2009 Tokyo Anime Fair, and it gives us a closer look at what they’re going for than the concept art shown before. Whatever your thoughts are on Joe’s look (I’m digging it, for the record), let’s hope Imagi is able to stay on track and keep with the projected release date of 2010.
