Otaku USA Magazine
US, Japan and Korea to Broadcast Kurokami Simultaneously

Parallel distribution is getting wilder and wilder now, what with similar announcements popping up pretty regularly. This one goes beyond simply airing a show in America a few days after its original broadcast, though, because Sunrise’s Kurokami is set to debut in America, Japan and Korea at the same time.

Kurokami The Animation is based on the Manhwa by Young Lim Dall and Park Sung Woo, and is directed by Twelve Kingdoms‘ Tsuneo Kobayashi. The version we’ll see isn’t an English subtitle-only job, either. This marks the first time that an English dub has been produced alongside its Japanese counterpart, and should prove an interesting experiment, regardless of which side you fall in the ages-old otaku sub/dub debate. Bandai Entertainment is taking part in the endeavor, which airs in Japan on January 8th at 2:40am on TV ASAHI, in America at 8pm on ImaginAsian TV, and in Korea on January 9th at 10pm on AniBOX.
