Uncle from Another World Anime Delayed Due to Staff Catching COVID

The ongoing Uncle from Another World TV anime recently got its start, but fans are going to have to wait a little longer for further episodes. As COVID-19 cases soar in Japan and other parts of the world, it turns out the a number of the staff members working on the Uncle from Another World anime have come down with COVID. As a result, the fifth episode has been hit with a delay that pushes it back to August 17. 

The fourth episode of the anime just aired in Japan, and after that the first two episodes will be rebroadcast on August 3 and 10, respectively. The series plans to continue after the August 17 airing of episode 5, but broadcast details beyond August will be confirmed later. 

The statement from the official website reads: 

“The Uncle from Another World Production Committee respectfully asks for your understanding that the health and safety of all staff involved in the production of this work is our first priority.”

Shigeki Kawai directs Uncle from Another World at anime production house Atelier Pontdarc. Global Netflix streaming kicked off on July 20, and there are currently two episodes available on US Netflix.
